Every day a colony's queen will lay 2000 - 3000 eggs. That's more than her body weight! She's definitely the most important bee in the hive. Here at Your Local Honey we know that a quality queen can make or break a colony and each season we produce some of the finest locally mated queens in the area to ensure we maintain happy and productive hives. Helping other beekeepers is important to us and we make additional queens available to the general public when available, often at short notice. We also produce queen cells on demand, grafted from the same quality stock. This can be an economical option for our larger commercial customers. Get in touch for more details to see if this option is right for you.
Our breeder queens are specifically selected for good temperament, low propensity to swarming and resistance to disease, while maintaining productivity. Calm and gentle bees are very important to us; no cranky bees or upset neighbours around here!

My bees are so calm now. I'm so excited as I don't need to wear gloves anymore.

Hi Pete. I thought I should give you an update. Your queen is doing a sterling job, very calm, laying strong eggs and the hive is thriving again. Thank you.
